MYSA administers a season-ending summer state tournament for the following leagues for both boys and girls: U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 for all competitive divisions. Each bracket will have a minimum of four teams. If there are not enough teams that wish to participate in a particular age/gender/division, the bracket may be reduced or dropped. The District Operating Committee will set the maximum number of teams for each age group and division except Premier which will be four.
All teams have the opportunity to participate either through district tournament play or by a direct berth to the state tournament. This is a round-robin tournament and must be completed by the second Sunday in August. All games are played at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
Registration for the tournament is done via the MYSA website by the published date on the MYSA calendar (June 19, 2008). If you sign up to participate and do not, a fine will be imposed.
An Opening Ceremonies for all teams participating in the State Tournament will take place on July 24, 2008 at James Griffin Stadium in St. Paul before the Minnesota Thunder game. Registration forms to participate will be available in the coaches packet for all teams qualifying for State. This is also a great time for players to use their complimentary Minnesota Thunder/Lightning ticket that each registered participant will receive via U.S. mail during the months of May and June. Discount tickets will also be available through the Minnesota Thunder.
