I would like to become a referee, what do I need to do?
Response: Those interested in becoming a referee need to attend a referee certification clinic. The Minnesota State Referee Committee (SRC) holds the certification clinics. Their website with a listing of clinics can be found at www.minnesotasrc.org.

I have been certified as a referee but am looking for additional training, where can I go?
Response: MYSA hosts a Referee Academy and an Advanced Referee Academy each year. For more information on these academies can be found on the Referee page located under the PROGRAMS menu or by going to the URL www.mnyouthsoccer.org/programs/academy.cfm.

Response: Those interested in become a referee assignor or recertified as an assignor should attend a referee assignor certification clinic. The Minnesota State Referee Committee (SRC) holds the certification clinics. Their website with a listing of clinics can be found at www.minnesotasrc.org.

Response: The MYSA Rule Summary card for Referees can be downloaded from the Referee page located under the PROGRAMS menu or by going to the URL www.mnyouthsoccer.org/programs/referee.cfm.

Are there any educational materials (i.e., dvd, videos) available to referees?
Response: Yes. MYSA has added referee educational materials to its lending library, located under the COACHES menu or by going to the URL www.mnyouthsoccer.org/coaches/library.cfm. Please visit for a list of the materials available as well as MYSA’s free rental policy.

Response: You first want to talk to your referee assignor. If they are not able to help you or if you still need additional assistance you can contact the Minnesota State Youth Referee Administrator (SYRA) at syra@minnesotasrc.org.
